Paula Deen Cookware Reviews
I’ve had my Paula Deen cookware for a long time, and it looks just as good now as it did on Christmas Day 2009. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a set of pots and pans that cleans up as easily as my Paula Deen 12 piece cookware set. You can literally wipe them clean with a paper towel.
If there’s a downside to any Paula Deen cookware set, I guess it would be that it’s not recommended for the dishwasher, but honestly, it only takes a few seconds to wash it by hand, so for me, even that isn’t really a downside.
Paula Deen cookware sets are not only functional, with even cooking and easy clean up, but they’re also attractive enough to leave out on display. I was given the Paula Deen 19241 Signature Porcelain 12-Piece Cookware Set in red which was a perfect addition to my red kitchen, and I often leave some of the pieces sitting on the stove after I wash them, just because they’re so darn pretty. They’d look even more amazing hanging from a pot rack! And I love the fact you can get Paula Deen cookware to match the color of almost any kitchen decor. They even come in purple!

I remember one time I turned the burner on under the big 6 quart stockpot with nothing in it. I was horrified when a few minutes later I noticed it, and the pot had turned a dark brown color all over. I was afraid I had ruined it. I snatched it off the burner and put it in the sink, since it was stainless steel and I figured even a hot pot wouldn’t hurt it.
To my utter relief and amazement, within a few minutes, the stockpot had cooled off and the beautiful, original speckled red color returned. It reinforced my belief that Paula Deen cookware is truly amazing.
You may read somewhere that you can’t use Paula Deen cookware on a glass stovetop. I didn’t realize that when I got my set, and have been using it in blissful ignorance on my glass stovetop with no problem whatsoever. I’m not suggesting that you do it, because your experience may be different, but I’ve had no issues at all. I think it may be the copper-bottomed Paula Deen cookware set made of stainless steel that’s not compatible with glass top stoves.
Another favorite feature of my Paula Deen cookware set is the rubberized handle on each pot. It’s true what they say about them never getting hot. They just don’t. And the non-stick surface is absolutely non-stick. I don’t care what you’re cooking, it’s just not going to stick. Eggs, cheese, caramelized onions, it doesn’t matter, when you’re finished cooking, whatever may be left in the pan can be cleaned off with a swipe of a paper towel.
I also love the glass top lids, that allow you to see your food while it’s cooking. We eat a lot of steamed broccoli, and by being able to see it, the broccoli always comes out perfect and is never overcooked.

My Paula Deen cookware set came with two utensils, a slotted turner and a slotted spoon, and since then I’ve also purchased some other accessories, including the Paula Deen 14 piece knife set and two butcher knives, (with red blades!) with their own sheaths for safe storage. Because I loved so much getting Paula Deen cookware for Christmas in 2009, I gave a set to my daughter for Christmas 2010!
I know I feel a connection to Paula Deen, even though we’ve never met, simply because we’re both from the Deep South, say y’all, and believe all good recipes start with adding butter. I’ve tried several Paula Deen recipes and I have to say I haven’t found a bad one in the bunch. The woman flat-out knows how to cook.
I don’t really believe that just owning Paula Deen cookware will make you a better cook…but I’m convinced it helps! And apparently I’m not the only one…
Very nice for the price, March 3, 2011

“I really love this Paula Deen cookware. I was long overdue for new cookware and this is very nice for a moderately priced set of cookware. The red is beautiful and you can’t really see it online but it has black flecks in it, very colorful. The construction of the pans seem like they should cost more. I like the see through lids with copper on the tops. I like them so much, I’m thinking of getting the blue set for my daughter.”
Great set of pots and pans, February 24, 2011

“I bought this set after reading several reviews. I have been using the pots and pans since I purchased them and have had no problems. They are super easy to clean and they seem to heat up faster than the old pots I had. Hard, stuck on stuff seems to just wipe out. I should have bought two sets.”

“I have a set of 2 skillets from this collection that I have used for quite a while. It made me want the whole set and I have the tea kettle on my wish list. This is a terrific set. I’ve read some reviews and if you go by all the warnings with the pots and pans, you probably won’t use them. You will have the same thing with other sets that aren’t Paula Deen. I have a smooth surface stove top and nothing has fused to it and I constantly take hot pot off of the hot burner and put it on a cold one. If this has happened, the pot must have been on fire or something. If one person complains about something, even if it’s not the fault of the pans, they put it in the warnings. You just have to use your common sense. Terrific sizes, especially the small 1 qt. pot. I just love the whole set and they are beautiful too.”
I love it!!!, December 18, 2010

“I love, love, love! my Paula Deen cookware. I received this set a year ago as a Christmas gift after seeing it in a newspaper ad. I admit I liked it because of how it looked but once I started using it I was hooked. It is a balanced and well made set, solid and a nice weight. And it cleans up beautifully. In fact it still looks as new as it did when I got it a year ago. I highly recommend this cookware set.”

“Bought my Paula Deen RED cookware set last year at Christmas time and I absolutely love it. I’ve not had any problems with any portion of the cookware, either inside or out. In fact, I’ve purchased additional pieces that match my set because I am so impressed with the quality of the cookware. Even the knives are still sharp after a full year of use. I’m sending my daughter a set for Christmas this year.”
